HELVETICA

Six Cities and the RSA present this special screening of Helvetica, a feature length, independent documentary about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. Following the screening a specially selected panel will discuss some of the issues raised by the film. Chaired by Gian Luca Amadei (Product Editor of Blueprint) the panel of four are; Bruno Maag Dalton Maag, Mhairi Mackenzie Mucky Puddle, Jon Jeffrey Bibliotheque, Hector Pottie Third Eye Design.

The film features a fluid discussion with renowned designers about their work, the creative process, and the choices and aesthetics behind their use of type. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives. Helvetica encompasses the worlds of design, advertising, psychology, and communication, and invites us to take a second look at the thousands of words we see every day.
